On Wednesday, December 12, 1973,
He was twenty-two years old when he started an establishment called Ayyappa Oil Mill in a thatched shed with the savings he had accumulated till then, on a three cent plot of land rented near Vandikappally Junction, north of Muthukulam, through the intervention of his close friend.
Hard work and dedication were his only assets. When the dedication of his wife, who had been with him since 1977, was added, the speed of that journey increased tenfold.
Being from the countryside, his love for agriculture, which he had grown up with since childhood, the introduction of chemical fertilizers during that period, and the far-reaching consequences that excessive use of chemical fertilizers could have, must have made him understand that, along with the edible oil processing that he had been doing until then, he was able to convey to the community the need to apply chemical fertilizers along with them to maintain the fertility of the soil through the processing of neem, punnayari, and marotiyari, which can be included in the category of organic pesticides and fertilizers. With the increasing support given by the farmers for that initiative that started in the eighties, an institution was born in 1988 under the name of lekshmi Industries, headquartered in Chingoli. Various organic fertilizers suitable for modern farming methods are also being used by the farmers in a good way under the name of BIOPLUS Organic Fertilizer.

From zero to the APPAS Group that we see today, the dedication and savings created by my father, G. Ayyappan Chettiar, helped me expand my business to various sectors.
My best friend’s father, who was like a father to me, helped me get a visa to Sharjah in 2003 and his support in making my dream of a UAE driving license a reality was a big turning point in my life as an expatriate. I cannot help but remember the brothers and sisters who stood by me and stood by me as I expanded my business in the field of air conditioning maintenance with branches in Emirates like Dubai and Ajman.
I returned home in early 2013 with the desire to spend the future with my parents, and that year I started a business in the field of digital printing under the name maas aarts, headquartered in Muthukulam. Appas Media Solutions was started with the idea of finding solutions to the difficulties faced by those working in similar fields like me.
Although I said goodbye to my life of exile, which was mixed with victories and defeats, in 2017, that exile period, which gave me many experiences in life, friends from many countries, and the smell of the sand grains of the Arab country, still lingers in my memories.
In 2023, when the Coliseum Sports Planet, Kerala’s largest cushion-padded football turf, was dedicated to the country, I was able to take a step towards the goal of giving a new life to a healthy generation in the present era where addiction hangs like a sword over the heads of the youth.
Poorna Collections was born in 2024 to perfect the clothing concepts that had been cultivated in the mind of my wife, who grew up in business.
Today, as the Appas Group celebrates its 50th anniversary, it is in the midst of its golden jubilee celebrations, and it is the courage of a group of young people with wings spread wide to help it reach its goal of soaring high.
That is the only thing that has always been in our hands.
